Webinar Replay: 2014 OIG Work Plan New Areas of Focus

Event Date:

Wednesday, April 16, 2014

This webinar replay will provide an overview of the Office of the Inspector General's (OIG) Work Plan and what it is, then turn to the new areas of OIG focus, specifically areas of high risk for providers such as the 2-Midnight Rule, outpatient E&M billed at new patient rate, and hospital privileging.

We will discuss the shift in focus to non-hospital providers, including chiropractic, ambulance, mental health providers and therapy, particularly around "questionable billing" and "high utilization of services". We will also cover areas of significant overlap between the OIG workplan and RAC targets.

OBJECTIVES

  • Gain a better understanding of the new project areas and focus.
  • Get detailed information on the impact of each of these new focus areas.
